The goal of the Travly project is to empower commuters and to increase the reach of urban transport by dissemination of public transport information. This project will digitize all the public transport routes of Pakistan, beginning with Lahore, and develop a system which will calculate the estimated time of arrival of buses. All this information will be available through an SMS service, a mobile application, and a web application for citizen access. Apart from buses, Travly will aim to become a one stop shop for all your travel needs by providing it’s users with multiple travel options where availing service of a rickshaw, taxi or carpooling are just a few clicks away. This project will also cultivate the spirit of volunteerism and community service in the society by using student volunteers to help collect and publish the public transportation data.
